Kicking and Screaming

No, that title does not have anything to do with my kids…today.  In reality, it describes the manner in which I have been taken into the new frontiers of technology by my loving husband.  First, there was facebook.  “Why are you creating a facebook page for me?  I’ll never use it!  When do I have time for frivolous things like that?”  Then, it was twitter.  “That is the most narcissistic site I’ve ever seen!  Why do I want to know what people are doing right now?  And who in the world wants to know what I’m doing???”  Of course, now I post photos, write ridiculous notes with 25 things about myself, and tweet from my husband’s IPhone as we drive to Piper’s ballet class….and now there’s this blog thing.  I know, I know, it’s not cutting edge.  Most bloggers have been doing so since before I was able to attach anything to an email (a skill I’m still working on).  But, my husband keeps suggesting and I keep thinking of things to write about, so here goes.

My hope with this blog is threefold.  First, I am hoping to continue to connect with like-minded folks.  In this ever-shrinking technological world, the opportunities to relate with people are unprecedented.  That has been the most remarkable aspect of both facebook and twitter for me, the way they have been a conduit for connecting and reconnecting with people who share many of the same struggles, interests, and aspirations as me.  Secondly, I love to write and so this is, in part, a selfish outlet for me to relieve stress and talk, even if no one is listening.  And lastly, it will finally put to good use the domain name that my husband set up for me over 2 years ago.  No kidding.  So, here I am!  Wife of 1, mother of 2, undeserving heir with Christ.  Maybe next I’ll learn to send pictures using my cell phone…

    Paula,

I decided that would be ‘brave like Paula’ and give blogging a try. Have no idea how this works but thought best to try it with newbies. Plus the concept is brilliant.

    Can’t wait to hear more.
